After the consecutive success of the Temper and Janata Garage, Jr NTR has been gaining even more popularity due to his presence on the small screen on Bigg Boss. In the hopes of gaining a hat-trick, he is now starring in the new film Jai Lava Kusa being produced by his brother Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. This duo led rise to high expectations ever since the beginning. The portrayal of the actor in a negative role in the film's trailer has garnered it over one and a half crore views. Now let's look at the movie on a deeper level.

Story: Three identical brothers, Jai, Lava and Kusa live in the village of Ramachandrapuram, where they are often given roles by their uncle (Posani Krishna Murali) to enact in plays during their childhood. The eldest brother, Jai, develops feelings of hatred because his uncle refuses to give him proper roles and insults him due to his battarism. And now Jai, inspired by the character of Ravana, decides to create a fire in order to kill the others. However, all three of them manage to survive the incident and grow up seperated since then. Lava is brought up by a fire department officer and becomes a bank manager in Hyderabad. Kusa grows up in jails and end up being a thief. But Jai grows up in Orissa to become a Don. Lava's innocense is often exploited by his colleagues and customers for their own personal gain. He also gets rejected by a girl named Priya who (Rashi Khanna) he fell in love with. Kusa plans on moving to the US with a crore of stolen money but is dissappointed when demonetization happens. Lava and Kusa meet and reunite as brothers and Kusa manages to steal 5 crores from a customer there while acting as Lava. But the money dissappears the next morning. Also, the Priya accepts Lava but dissappears afterwards. Shortly followed by Lava and Kusa getting kidnapped. It is then revealed that Jai is responsible for these events. Jai plans on extorting revenge and killing his brothers. Lava wants to rekindle with his older brother but Kusa wants to get him killed. The drama that follows contributes the rest of the story.

Analysis: The story was nothing extraordinary, but character creation and the melodramatic themes presented by the director were appealing. The scripting of the scenes and dialogues was well crafted and prevented a dragged out experience. Jr NTR was the film's biggest asset bringing in exceptional acting, dialogue delivery and dancing. The screenplay was flat and featured minor twists here and there. The songs were less in number but fit perfectly into the film at appropriate places. The dialogues, cinematograohy and the music became the movies' strong points.

Actor Performances: The three character arcs and variations were very well managed by Jr NTR. The negative characteristc displayed a new shade to his acting. The heroins Nivedha Thomas and Rashi Khanna had a lesser role to play but excelled at presenting themselves nevertheless. Sai Kumar, Harish Uthaman, Ronit Rai, Abhimanyu Singh, Pradeep Rawat and the others justified their performances well with the characters. The presence of Hamsa Nandini and Tamanna on the screen brought an added appeal.
