Telangana CM, KCR has announced to increase the quota of Muslims and tribals in a press conference on Wednesday. KCR said the State Cabinet will announce the enhanced percentage of reservations at a meeting on 15th April.

To pass the bill, a special session of  Telangana Assembly will be held on 16th April. He said that the bill will be sent to President’ consent post passing it in the Telangana Assembly. KCR also stressed that they will approach Supreme court if the centre refused to include the legislation in Constitution’ ninth schedule, which was done in the case of Tamilnadu in the past.

Telangana CM also said it is the responsibility of the government to increase the reservations as per the social composition of newly formed Telangana.

Earlier, Union Minister, Prakash Javadekar confirmed that they were against the religion-based reservations which were against the constitution during his visit to Bhongir constituency. Now it’s become interesting, “How TRS and BJP will move on this issue?”
